On April 30, 2025, the Southern Center for Maternal Health Equity convened its CP Core Second Annual Strategy Session, bringing together community leaders, researchers, and advocates committed to advancing maternal health equity across the South. Facilitated by Nieux Edge, the gathering provided space for reflection, relationship-building, and collaborative design—marking an important milestone in giving feedback to the Research Projects, shaping the future of the CP Core Training Laboratory and strengthening the partnership between community and academia.

We grounded the day with a shared sense of purpose, clarified our objectives, and set the tone for bold, collaborative work ahead.
We began by sharing real stories of hope—personal moments, lived experiences, and the values that drive us—to build connection and remind ourselves why this work matters.
Participants have conversations in pairs to conduct interviews focused on their skills, expertise, visions for the future, and other relevant topics.
