Turning Challenge into Opportunity: Accelerating Africa’s Green Transition


IFC and the Central Bank of Kenya organized the first Africa Climate Business Forum in Nairobi. Over 300 government and business leaders from across the continent gathered in the Kenyan capital to discuss strategies to bridge Africa's climate Finance Gap and the potential opportunities that the new climate economy presents for Africa's industrial growth and job market.

During two days of discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing, the event delved into critical topics for pushing forward strategies to bridge Africa's climate finance gap and the potential opportunities that the new climate economy presents for Africa's industrial growth and job market.

Panels focused on issues such as greening urbanization, decarbonizing growth, scaling finance and capital markets, building carbon markets and growing climate agribusiness.

A Space For Dialogue and Enabled Discussion

Participants drove a lively atmosphere with rich and engaging discussions centered around supporting Africa's green transition and fostering a sustainable business environment. They explored various opportunities and innovative solutions to promote sustainability and environmental consciousness within the private sector.
